HITLIST
‘Hitlist’ is one rocking band you don’t want to miss. Comprising of four very experienced musicians who between them have toured throughout the world, and have toured with some of the biggest names in New Zealand music.‘Hitlist’ was recently the backing band for The Australian Rod Stewart Show ‘Tonite’s the Nite’ and the response was so good they split a peanut butter sandwich and started a band. They will be performing a set of hits, favourites, sing along and dance along songs from the 60’s to the current day, in a fun and very rock n roll way.
The band is led by vocalist / bassist Layton Lillas, who has just returned from six years performing in the UK. During this time abroad he played popular venues from Glasgow to London to huge audiences and has also performed for a six month residency at The Hard Rock Café Dubai and a one month residency at a popular expat bar ‘Just Kicking’ in Kampala, Uganda!!!
Keyboardist / Vocalist Wendy Thornton’s musical career spans the last 26 years and in that time has backed many of New Zealand’s finest professional entertainers including Gray Bartlett, Brendan Dugan, Tom Sharplin and Jodie Vaughan. Since 1990, she has also performed in the backing band for most major country music awards throughout New Zealand including the prestigious N.Z Gold Guitar Country Music Awards.
Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Jeff Stewart has over 30 years of experience in Waikato bands including Lucifer, Switch, Local Knowledge, Wildcard, Helen Riley Band, Broke n Hungry, Hardcast and Two Plus Company. He plays virtually any style of music with ease from Rock through to Country and is often sought out to complement many different lineups because of this versatility.
Last but not least the backbone to the band is drummer John Dill. He too has a huge amount of experience holding down the rhythm for Waikato Bands Head First and VHF who have been big hits on the Auckland nightclub circuit for many years. Hailing from the home town of The Finn Brothers Te Awamutu, John is a drummer with harmony and melody and you’ll hear plenty of that live!
Expect to hear… The Beatles, Bon Jovi, The Commitments, Bryan Adams, Robbie Williams, Glen Campbell, Rod Stewart, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, John Cougar Mellencamp, The Proclaimers, The Rolling Stones, Abba, Pink Floyd, U2, CCR, Crowded House, The Doobie Brothers, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Queen, REM and much much more!
